Why you should quit smoking:
Smoking poses a huge risk to your health. So huge, in fact, that it’s accountable for 80,000 deaths in England each year.** Parts of your body that can be negatively affected by smoking include:
If the health impacts weren’t enough, smoking is also a massive drain on your money. It is so important to get all the help and encouragement necessary to quit. We know it’s not easy, but our trained specialists are here for you.
How can our Stop Smoking Service help?
You will be able to discuss your smoking goals with a trained member of staff, who will be able to offer advice on how best to achieve them. We have private consultation rooms available if you wish to chat in confidence.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy
Self-control alone may not be enough to help you stop smoking straightaway, which is completely fine. Though it is not entirely risk free, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is an effective way to help you get started, by managing your cravings and supporting your addiction.
During the private consultation, our staff member will be able to recommend any suitable Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products

Visit Village pharmacy cosby or narborough for a FREE Medicines Check Up, which involves a private consultation with our pharmacist to help you understand whether you are taking your medicines properly.
What is a Medicines Check Up?
It's a free, NHS-funded service that allows you to have a private, face-to-face conversation with our pharmacist about your medicines. It is different to an annual review with your doctor, as it focuses on increasing your knowledge of the medicines you take, why you take them and how you can take them more easily.
This service is helpful for you if you are taking multiple medicines, particularly for long term conditions. This usually includes asthma and other lung conditions (such as COPD, chronic bronchitis and emphysema), diabetes, high blood pressure, and conditions where the medicine controls the way your blood clots (anticoagulants or antiplatelet medication).
What happens during the Medicines Check Up?
The pharmacist will ask you a series of questions about the medicines you are taking. You will also have the opportunity to ask the pharmacist any questions that you may have. It might be worth noting down some questions before your appointment.
By the end of your Medicines Check Up you should:
You will be asked to give your consent that any information obtained during the Medicines Check Up Service may be shared with your GP, local health board or NHS Business Service.

At Village pharmacy group we offer a FREE weekly medication Service, if you take multiple medications or take medicines on a long term basis and would like your tablets to be better organised you can take advantage of our free Weekly medication Service.
The pharmacy will dispense your weekly medicines into weekly trays with separate compartments for each day of the week and times of the day, it is then ready for you to remove the tablets for that day or time allowing you to keep track of your own medicines or medicines for those you care for.
This system benefits those who:
Right medicine, right time, right patient

As part of the astham Support Service, you may be asked to complete a Quality of Life Questionnaire, otherwise referred to as an Asthma Control TestTM, which will help to determine how well you have managed your medicines during the past four weeks and enables us to identify customers who would benefit from further advice.
You will be given advice about how to manage your asthma and medicines, covering the specific areas that you may have difficulty with. Then, depending on the outcomes of these tests, you may be asked to book a follow-up appointment with the pharmacist to discuss what support you require.
Not only can we collect your prescription from the surgery for you but we also offer a free deliver service of your medication to your home. This service is available to customers who are housebound or elderly or who have difficulty in getting to their local village Pharmacy.
